Ellie Goulding's stars through Monsieur Adi's eyes

Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed (Monsieur Adi Remix) (mediafire)

Here it is... the remix I was dealing with in my session #7 has leaked into the blog world yesterday. Don't be pessimistic and let's take advantage of the situation, and, why not - let's get into megalomania - bring it to the top of the Hypem 'popular'. I count on you! Give some love to this track, it does not cost you anything but a little time. So here is the story : the main ingredient is (again) my dear blond girl from over the Channel, with the eyes full of stars and a debut album full of Lights coming soon, the sweet Ellie Goulding. Let's add the second ingredient, On rajoute le second ingrédient, an Italian velouté sauce (I know, such a weird mix) named Monsieur Adi that the biggest chefs will soon pay millions to have it, for a better taste. Then a tiny little bit of eastern spicies and finally the secret trick, the finest and rarest binder which recipe is only known by a few persons on Earth. And what do we obtain? An incredible musical dish, not yet deserved to be featured on a 4 stars restaurant (created for the occasion) but something Paul Bocuse would certainly be jealous of. Nothing to add, except the French cuisine still has a bunch of good days to face.

Everybody's starry eyed... Boom boom, boom boom, PAF!

The show must go on

This had to be quite a big surprise for Phoenix when the crowd invaded the stage during their gig in Vancouver on January the 22nd. But they never gave up, Thomas Mars kept on singing louder and louder, asking the crowd to put their hands in the air, turning an epic security fail into an amazing peripety these young dudes would never forget. Indeed, Thomas and his mates were very pleased by this emotional moment which is kind of a mega 'thank you' for everything this band has created all over their carreer, and a way to say 'you are the best, you sincerely deserve this Grammy Award you're going to win next week'. 9 minutes of Canadian joy.
Anyway, this may be named the Live 2.0 : when fans meet artists, le summum of interactions between kings and serfs, sky and ground, gods and believers. I think this concept actually needs to be developped, while now we are aware of the fact artists almost earn more money with tours than album sells.

I'm so amazed to see how remixes are growing, faster and faster. Just the time to digest the previous random session and we're now up for another, your devoted Nico has selected some fancy tunes. Let's go.
Oh, you may have noticed the birth of two pretty draws here -->
It is supposed to reprezent my 2 new radios, which you could listen to by clicking on this abstract art. Their name tells everything.

1) Monsieur Adi x Flashworx

2) D/A/D x Flashworx

3) One Republic x Danger

4) Delphic x The Party Circuit

5) Nil Hartman x Mondkopf

1) Monsieur Adi x Flashworx (exclu)

Monsieur Adi - We Are The Romans (Flashworx Remix)

I was dealing with this contest by the end of 2009, and I was teasing you with a result you may like. So here it is, Monsieur Adi and I have chosen the Flashworx remix as the best of this contest! You may not be surprised, you who have seen the birth of these 2 Geneva-based DJs in Random Trax pages. The reward? The right to appear on Monsieur Adi's EP next to Overthrill, Freak You, Renegade and Wolfchild
But wait, that's not all, I can't let you with such a short 1). So here is an old remix Adi made for Marina & The Diamonds while she was not known, on Youtube. There's a lack of some things I can't put my finger on, but the main idea is like all the others from Adi, very, very great.
In the same vein, I think his new remix of  Javi - Situation is better than the original track, with this saxo melody which is taking us back to Harlem in the 30's. It's also to watch on Youtube.
To conclude with the news from our Italian Monsieur, a word about his last remix... which is nothing else than a fabulous requiem to the already fantastic Starry Eyed from my dear Ellie Goulding. Here is an epic tune. We're dealing with the best remix of 2010, even it remains 11 months for it to be beaten. If I'm not allowed to give you the MP3 right now, it's because this reword will be featured on Ellie's EP to be released on February the 22nd, one week before her first and waited album Lights. It's called like the penultimate album of Archive, which is making us expecting a success even bigger, Elena Jane being the Artist to have an eye on according to the BBC Sound Poll of 2010, a survey answered by important people from the English music scene (critics, radios and labels).

2) D/A/D x Flashworx (exclu)

Encore un. Oui oui.

D/A/D - 10 Days Vacation (Flashworx Remix)

One more. Yes yes. In Switzerland the word 'unemployment' does not exist. And they don't pay attention at their golden watch. The Flashworx duo has picked a 'trippy' track into D/A/D's library and has turned it into something to bring your grandma on the dancefloor. With a bassline pretty close of this one.
It makes me remember of a little present I have for you, an exclusive track, so fresh and so flashy. That's called Day After and yeah, we actually are jumping to the future, happily in a warmer way than in the movie.
Now wait for the firsts EPs of my friends, to be released around May!

Flashworx - Day After

3) One Republic x Danger

One Republic - All The Right Moves (Danger Remix)

One Republic is the band which couldn't stop telling us it was to late to apologize. I don't know why I ever hearted this track... And now they're back with a new single called All The Right Moves, Danger adding his so particular touch, behind his 2 holes' mask, to finish what has been started, which is turning this track into something dancable and head bang-able. Objective reached, we already dream of the first time we'll hear this live.
The occasion to deal with new Danger EP, 9/17 2007, released last week and one more time screaming to the world how Franck Rivoire is a genius, perfectly melting chip-une, soundtrack and 8-bit into a tune which is able to make us dance on The Exorcist. I said genius.

4) Delphic x The Party Circuit (exclu)

Delphic - This Momentary (The Party Circuit Remix)

Delphic are a conceptual band. A so particular concept it's actually very complicated to remix them. Could you give me one good remix of them? There is one and only one, the 'Riton Re-rub' which hit the Hypem top weeks ago. I found another one, hidden far far away in Ohio, state represented by a flag not inspired at all by the Cuban flag.
We haven't thought it would be so easy to make a good remix, yet the 3 Americans composing The Party Circuit have succeeded in this and the crowd may be delighted when they're DJing.

5) Nil Hartman x Mondkopf

Nil Hartman - Ma Disconica (Mondkopf Remix)

At first, Ma Disconica from Nil Hartman (former Nil, but it's not easy every day to be named like the - almost - longest river in the world) is a piece of marvellous French... French something, for sure. Re-arranged by the talented classico-electronic musician Mondkopf, we obtain a petal from the finest flower of the musical garden à la française. Louis XIV turned green because of high jealousy.
