Top Albums 2010 : #10 - #1

#10 - Shout Out Louds - Work [Starlight Walker]

These Swedish guys impressed me a lot with their album but also with their concert last Fall in Paris. The girl playing keyboard left with tears in the eyes, as the main part of the massive crowd.

#9 - 65daysofstatic - We Were Exploding Anyway [Hassle Records]

As Mogwai before in this top, 65daysofstatic is one of the leading UK-based post-rock bands. This album is very hard, very electric, not far from Pendulum-style drum & bass on some tracks (Weak4, Go Complex), but definitely awesome! The final song, Tiger Girl, has a big complexity and leads to an enormous mind flight!

#8 - Efterklang - Magic Chairs [Rumraket/4AD]

Efterklang are kind of the Danish Arcade Fire, genius in everything they do and chosen by Vincent Moon for a great project, An Island, first movie to be broadcasted by the people for the people.

> Modern Drift

#7 - Yeasayer - Odd Blood [Secretly Canadian]

Yeasayer rhymes with easy, easy as the way their tracks are jumping into your brain and hardly leaving.

#6 - Aeroplane - We Can't Fly [Eskimo Recordings]

We have waited for monthes to listen to this album, then we got it, then nobody liked it and now we will never have something like that again. Personnally I adore this album which is mixing disco, house, reggae and pop very nicely

#5 - Delphic - Acolyte [Polydor]

Released very early last year, Delphic's album had to finish in my Top 5, it was written. Each track can be listened at any time, whether we are in Spring or Fall, and the whole thing is a perfect musical trip.

#4 - The Chemical Brothers - Further [Parlophone]

To be high in my top 2010, an album had to be easy to listen from the first track to the last without pausing or forwarding. Successful bet for The Chemical Brothers to have left aside any hip-hop beat to make an album 100 percent electro-stratospheric, the kind of album we haven't heard for more than a couple of years!

#3 - Bag Raiders - Bag Raiders [Modular]

From beginning to end, this album is a jewel, a marvellous thing, a mix of African drums, cowbells, talented featuring (Dan Black, Chromeo), frisky lyrics, and much more! Two years after the release of their tune Shooting Stars, we couldn't wait longer for Bag Raiders' fist album, and we were afraid it's not as high as their first single... I have to say I'm not disappointed at all!
Special mention for Snake Charmer, seriously making me shake my booty.

#2 - Gold Panda - Lucky Shiner [Ghostly International]

Gold Panda is a nice nickname for a man crazy about Asia, isn't it? A panda using his sampler with perfect golden fingers... This lovely animal succeeds in taking us onto a sound trip through the roots of electronic music. Surely the revelation of the year 2010!

#1 - Chilly Gonzales - Ivory Tower [Gentle Threat]

Last but not least, or most exactly the first, the long awaited, the famous, the giant, the maestro CHILLY GONZALES !!
Now master in the art of transforming his precise and well written texts into music, Chilly Willy has composed this album to be the soundtrack of the movie Ivory Tower, his first try as a director. With such a high level of sound excellence, I must admit I've always wondered if the movie hasn't been shot to illustrate the wonderful work of this Canadian guy...

@Ouchouche pourquoi donc?

Nico a dit…

@Ouchouche tu me fais peur haha.

Je surkiffe "Rumour Has It" et "Turning Tables".

Nico a dit…

J'aime pas Adele, trop mainstream. J'aime bien un remix de Rolling In The Deep, par Aeroplane je crois.
L'intrus c'est clairement The Strokes, c'est naze :)
