No robbers in the air tonight

Air - Sing Sang Sung

Gunstar - The Dream Machine

Futurecop! - Tonite's Hero

Futurecop! - Ain't That Fresh

Little Boots - New In Town (Fred Falke Remix)

While the sixth album from Air, Love 2, is going to be released soon, the two French Djs proposed Do The Joy on free download last June. Sing Sang Sung is the first official single.

Air - Sing Sang Sung

Here's the fantastic composition of a young Dj from North Ireland which many bloggers accused to be a copy from a Futurecop! song. Bloggers were so sure to recognize a song in particular, they said that was a copy from... Starworshipper, but also from N.A.S.A., and also from Transformers... In my opinion, the inspiration is clearly taken in the Futurecop! work, but that's not a copy. Stop to search bad arguments and just applause this tsunami of sound, The Dream Machine.

Gunstar - The Dream Machine

To stay in this retro-futuristic ambient, I let you listen to two more tracks from Futurecop!, the devastating Tonite's Hero and the trippy Ain't That Fresh.

Futurecop! - Tonite's Hero

Futurecop! - Ain't That Fresh

Finally, a song which is obsessing me a lot, I believe I hear it everywhere : the remix of New In Town from Little Boots by Fred Falke. A very good track which makes you dance everytime you listen to it.

Cop of the future

Futurecop! - Eyes like the ocean

Futurecop! - Transformers

Futurecop - Karate Kids (video by TNUC)

The time is coming to tell you about Valérie. What is it? A French collective of Djs loving and composing retro/disco songs. Why? Because I love EVERYTHING they're doing. Yet it's not THE post, I'm not ready to give College and his friends the tribute they deserve. That's why I'm simply going to deal with two English Djs, Manzur Iqbal and Peter Carrol, which are composing under the name Futurecop!. Friends of Valérie and its flashy universe, just take a look at their Myspace, which is surely the most coloured, illustrated and full of amazing things from the 80's I've ever seen.

Futurecop! - NASA

It's the kind of music which help me so much to visit my dreams. And which fits so good with lyrics, as Three Fingers wanted to demonstrate it in this bootleg with Bounce from MSTRKRFT.

Futurecop! - Eyes like the ocean

Good to see that this overwhelming sound is fine to listen again and again, not as some electronic songs which you're fastly fed up with. If I've to pick my best song, I'll choose without any hesitation Eyes like the ocean, which has a big potential to be a movie soundtrack.

Futurecop! - Transformers

I hope this track isn't a tribute to the movie, clearly this bad movie doesn't deserve it. I need to spin round and round, just for the pleasure to feel my blood coming into my fingers while bouncing with this devastating melody.

Futurecop! - Starworshipper

This last track's trying to give you the willing to believe there's a Star protecting your destiny, remembering we all have something to do on Earth, and we have to do it fearless, because (future) cops are keeping an eye on us...

Always More Entertainment

AutoKratz - Stay The Same

Illustration ci-dessous avec The Best Revenge.

Fischerspooner - The Best Revenge

I recently managed to listen correctly to Animal, the first album of autoKratz released last June, and Entertainment, the third album of Fischerspooner released last April.

AutoKratz - Stay The Same

The first are the two Djs fron London David Cox and Russel Crank signed on the famous French label Kitsuné. After a first EP In & Out in Paris & London in 2008, they finally released their first album.

That's not one of my best but Always More and Stay The Same are very nice.

Fischerspooner is an electro duet from NY which first album #1 was very succesful mainly because of the song Emerge. After a second album more « 70's », the third is much more poppy.

A little example beyond with The Best Revenge.

Fischerspooner - The Best Revenge

And to conclude, an excellent remix of Danse en France (which lyrics are only French) by the French band of Minitel Rose.

Calvin & The Chipmunks

Well well, Calvin Harris c'est cet écossais qu'on avait découvert avec l'album I Created Disco en 2007. À quoi peut-on bien s'attendre?

Calvin Harris - Rock Band

Well well, Calvin Harris is this Scottish DJ we have discovered with his I Created Disco album in 2007. Well, maybe you have. Personally I discovered him last winter somewhere between Montréal and Cuvat (don't try to search it's a lost cause) with the song I'm Not Alone. And now, everybody knows it perfectly and is waiting for his second album. How lucky you are, it's coming out next monday. What could we expect? Rumors says this album will be totally different from the first one and much more selling. Might we understand « commercial, boom boom and playmates » ? It seems to be this... And it's not the video clip of Ready For The Weekend which will contradict me, full of gorgeous babes very useless, only able to make men dribble.

I'm Not Alone beeing an amazing track, clearly it will be hard to find a better one among the 14 album's tracks. We already know four of it : the amazing track above, the one from the video a little more above, the featuring with rappers Dizzee Rascal & Chrome on Dance wiv Me and finally the last one, 5iliconeator, a wink to Deadmau5 ? If it't the case it's a very tearing wink! I wonder if the wink is indeed adressed to all this 5iliconed girls turning around him...

Calvin Harris - 5iliconeator

And if the very best wasn't in this album ? But in this isolated track, alone in the darkness of the universe, which deals with a band devoted to rock? The solution may be right here, retrain you into rock Calvin, if you need any help from your buddies, the Chipmunks are OK to give you some lessons... (sorry for the horrible picture featured right on top of this article...)

Calvin Harris - Rock Band

Gangster porn horn

Bandit - Minotaur

This good Bandit pleases us by coming back with a fresh and epic track, trying to deepen his Minotaur into our cerebral labyrinth as Wolfgang Amadeus would have done with the synthetizer's ancestor. There's not only Austria which is allowed to have her child prodigy!

I ♥ Sweden Vol.3 : Ultimate random review

Teddybears Sthlm - Cobrastyle (feat. Mad Cobra)

Peter, Bjorn & John - Young Folks

There's still good Swedish bands which deserve at least one listening, but I won't deal with them because of my little knowledge, as John Dahlbäck, Dada Life, Sally Shapiro, Alice In Videoland, The Hives or The Sounds.

I'd like to begin with José Gonzalez and his magnificent cover of Heartbeats heard in an advertising for Sony Bravia where coloured balls are falling into San Francisco's streets. The video clip presents this advertising but with the original track from The Knife (a Swedish electro duet).

Then comes the rocky track of Mando Diao, Dance With Somebody, which certainly gives me desire to dance with somebody... hmm almost with everybody.

Following, Cobrastyle from Teddybears Sthlm (for Stockholm), those who composed Jerk It Out from Caesars. I must admit that I used to see this track coming out from a Jamaican mouth rather than a Swedish one, but oh! The singer is Mad Cobra, a... Jamaican. I would sleep more brillant tonight.

Teddybears Sthlm - Cobrastyle (feat. Mad Cobra)

I would conclude this review with a big tune of 2007, which probably made you whistle, Young Folks from Peter, Bjorn & John.

Peter, Bjorn & John - Young Folks

Why should I wait until Tomorrow ?

Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch

Not so long ago I was dealing with Tron, here came the time to deal with Ladytron. Ladytron, it's an electro band based in Liverpoool, which particularity is to play synthetizer live rather than using samples as the big majority of electro bands. Their lyrics aren't trully the most joyful but their music is so... bewitching. Add a little psychedelism, mix it with pop and you'll fall right into a swirl of notes made for you to sink in an ocean of despair. No, that's what someone totally ignorant would think while listening to this little wonder, maybe qualifying it of funeral music. Indeed I see a sound full of hope, you know, as in the major scene of a film where the hero would throw himself into the lion's mouth in slow motion, knowing that he's going to die, but he does it for his fatherland (or for his family, I let you choose), because he must stop this villain who's destroying everything he touches...

Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch

... and because if he's not doing this right now, it would be too late tomorrow...

Ladytron - Tomorrow

... you know, like John McClane trying to save his ex-wife captured by some horrible German terrorists or his daughter which is seventeen...

Ladytron - Seventeen

I'm seriously loving (this band) this scene !
